Each February, as a joint meeting with the larger Catholic Social Ministry Gathering at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC, the Roundtable conducts a Symposium through which its members, with the help of resource persons, share their understanding and approach to social justice issues and diocesan social action ministry. The event also includes the Roundtable annual Membership Meeting. Topics at recent Symposia have included Food Justice, Faithful Citizenship, and Privatization of Prisons.
THE ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM AND CSMG WILL NOT BE HELD IN 2017 DUE TO THE USCCB'S
CONVOCATION OF CATHOLIC LEADERS: THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL IN AMERICA
TAKING PLACE JULY 1-4, 2017 IN ORLANDO, FL.
In lieu of the Annual Symposium and CSMG, diocesan social action directors are encouraged to participate in the 2017 Legislative Advocacy Issues Briefing Webinar scheduled for February 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM EDT. This webinar will prepare social action directors to take issues of concern to their Senators and Representatives in their home district offices during the Congressional Recess week of February 20-24, 2017. This webinar is being hosted by the USCCB's Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development and you can register for it here.
